Chalk Paint...so funny, I actually used to think this was "chalk board" paint. I couldn't understand why everyone was painting furniture with this paint. Then my girlfriend LL introduced me to the world of Sloan....Annie Sloan. I found it rather expensive until I saw how little I had actually used on a 6 foot long sideboard (and I painted 2 coats!) I'm still not sure I want all my furniture painted with chalk paint... I actually like the stained look better. Maybe it's the waxing part I didn't love. I found it inconsistent.
Now the metallic wax paint, that's AMAZING! Spray paint sucks, this stuff went on so smooth and thick and looks like I dipped the legs in liquid gold. I love it!
So my overall experience with chalk paint was - Meh.
I could take it or leave it. My own personal style is more modern and I could have achieved the look I wanted with a dark stain and had an extra $100 left in my pocket. All in all I learned a new technique that I may or may not use ever again and I got to check something off the to-do list.
Now off to Anthropologie to acquire something shiny.
