YIKES!

That's exactly it. I'm always cold, and this living room was too. Well sort of still is. Wallpaper has been installed, fireplace mantel re-decorated and now comes the built in....my new DIY project. (My husband is going to flip his lid) He is totally on board with the "reno's" but he'd rather pay a pro....pro schmo! We already know what happens when you hire a professional (wallpaper disaster). I decided not to take any chances with my built-in LOL (It's all one BIG chance I can complete this and still be married)

Ok so first, I researched what and how I was going to do this... just so everyone knows I did make a built-in bench (with storage Whoooraaaah!) in my kitchen, but the small teensy bit of info I may have left out, my Uncle P helped me (he's a contractor) so that may be considered cheating. Also, this may be super fun because I'm horrible at math. Let's just pray it's all level at the end of this.

I need to stay focused. Don't get bored, stay with me here!!!!

Step one: Measurements. MEASURE everything...3 times. Why? Because sometimes I round up...down...closest even number. (no but really, it's best to be right the first time)

Step two: Figure out the look you want, I'm keeping mine a little more modern. No handles or knobs for the doors, I'm 007 this biatch.

Step three: Draw it out. Make a sketch of what you want it to look like. You don't have to be an artist, make it good enough that you can read it and maybe the staff at HomeDepot so they can help with the cuts and they may have a suggestion for you that could make your life (DIY Project) easier.

Step four: Purchase the wood, call your Dad and ask him to help you LOL (I'm actually calling him right now, he has some tools I don't and I pretend I just want to borrow the tools, see if he can come over and show me the best 'technique'....I then get him to "show me" on my new project)

BAM! your Done.

(I kid, I kid) - sort of

You can either add shelving, doors, or both. Stay tuned and see how I (we) finish this beauty off.

-xo
