Bohemian In-Style

This style I like, but I’m super hesitant when it comes to colour… I like gold…and rose gold…and maybe blushes. But other than that, I’m die hard black and white fan. It’s like you can’t go wrong, this is my safe zone, but I am trying to be more open in my own home. I’m also constantly holding myself back from painting more walls black- “Hold me back! Hold me back!” This post is great for me too, it’s like I’m trying to convince myself to ‘Let it go’…so here we go.

Oh the fabrics, pattern on pattern on pattern. There really aren’t any rules to patterns, like for real. Run wild and free my little Nashers. – see what I did there? (You North+Nash followers just got LadyGaga’d, I labeled you).

Fabrics- hang canopy’s from your walls + ceiling, who needs a four-poster bed or headboard when you can hang that shit up. Also, in some area of your newly styled Boho home you need a beaded curtains, I mean common, that’s a given. ;)

Plants, you need all the plants. Hanging plants from a braided fabric are the best. I really shouldn’t be preaching this because I’m almost positive Mother Nature hates me for all her children I’ve laid to rest (I’m missing a thumb, the green one) but you need to at least attempt the plant game. Add Moroccan pillows + lanterns/candles, fabric ottomans and nesting tables.

There really aren’t “rules” for the Boho style. Layer on Layers of rugs and fabrics are most commonly found. Overlap on Overlap and you can’t go wrong lol. Earth tones and natural materials are very common as well as throwing in the mix of colours. Coral, reds, blues and purples. Colours though are normally added to the room through the fabrics a very little white appears in a Boho styled home. Area rugs hang as wall décor, and when it comes to the furniture it is rarely all purchased from the same store, or with one “style” in mind. Furniture pieces are collected over time, rarely brand new and again they never really match. In this style it’s the little pieces that matter, the accessories of sorts that are you’re adding to each room to pull this style together. Are you a minimalist? Haha, then this isn’t the style for you, there is nothing minimal about it.
