Work Smarter Not Harder- FAIL

I have always believed you should work smarter not harder. Unfortunately, I have fallen short of my own advice. Today I drove 4 hours from Ottawa, ON to Montreal, QC for ONE TILE. Yup, that wasn’t an autocorrect or spelling mistake. ONE FREAKIN’ TILE!!!!!!! The tile is big so it wasn’t like a 4x6 tile, but still it was ONE. I needed it to complete the master bath shower (stay tuned to the YouTube channel later this week to see what was worth a 4 hour drive). Long story short they didn’t fully process my order last week so it sat in ‘limbo’ since Wednesday and when the truck arrived this morning my box of tiles weren't there. I know what your thinking, "you said it was ONE tile, why did you order a box" these tiles also aren't sold as a singleton, they come 4 in a box and each tile is around 12" x 32". I found out this morning at 10-ish and was on the road before 11am to pick them up. My only problem was we don’t have child care after school, my son needs to be ‘picked up’ from the bus stop at 3:55pm. My GPS said I would be home by 3pm.

LIES…. Screw you Maps App. YOU WERE WRONG. So not only did I get stuck in traffic once back in Ottawa, my hubby’s cell is on ‘silent’ (like WTF- why do you have a cell if you can't hear it ring?!?!) which means I couldn't tell him to get his butt home to get Maddox.... It wasn’t like he wasn’t working but by this point I was beyond annoyed.

Y’all can calm down though because we are the parents who always give our kids worst case scenarios…Jordyn (our eldest) knew to get Maddox off the bus if we didn’t make it home before he arrived and that we’d be home within a few minutes. *High-Five* to our awesome parenting!

OH and yes... I got my tile. Was it worth it, heck yes! This master bath tile is so unique I almost wouldn't want to shower in it.
